ARHYOSA™ Project Objectives
The ARHYOSA™ project aims to create the first Italian platform for the management and monitoring of machinery involved in the production of green hydrogen, adopting an “as a service” approach. The platform combines Italian excellence in Green Tech, AIoT, and industrial certification to support the energy transition and decarbonization.

By integrating advanced technologies such as EDGEAI, GENAI, and XAI, the ARHYOSA™ solution will provide high value-added services, not only technical, but also insurance, financial, and forecasting. Based on patents and EaaS (Equipment as a Service) technologies, the platform will be tested on an innovative electrolysis plant designed by AGT, which uses renewable energy to produce carbon-free hydrogen according to the Power-to-Hydrogen (P2H) model.

The platform will include the following main components, as shown in the figure:

  • ARHYOSA CLOUD™: for continuous monitoring of time-stamped data from Green Tech machinery.
  • ARHYOSA EDGE™: for certified processing of AI algorithms in an edge computing environment.
  • ARHYOSA DLT™: for the certification of data, AI algorithms, and energy parameters through distributed ledger (DLT) technologies.

In addition to the integration of pre-existing modules, the development and integration of two brand-new modules are planned:

  • ARHYOSA MAGIC™: for semantic interfacing of machinery, based on digital twins, semantic modeling, and the OPC UA™ standard.
  • ARHYOSA GEDI™: for the management and secure distribution of AI algorithms in Docker™ format and datasets in compliance with European regulations.

ARHYOSA™ contributes to the decarbonization of key sectors such as transportation, industry, and energy, enabling the integration between the production and use of renewable energy through the Power-to-X (P2X) model.

ARHYOSA™ Project Implementation

The platform is structured into three main components, each with a specific role within the overall infrastructure:

  1. ARHYOSA CLOUD™
  • Features:
    • Real-time monitoring of data from Green Tech machinery.
    • Aggregation and historical analysis of energy and production parameters.
    • API interfaces and dashboards for operators, technicians, insurers, and financial analysts.
  • Key Technologies:
    • Cloud-native (Kubernetes, serverless computing)
    • AI/ML pipelines
    • RESTful APIs and MQTT for IoT
  1. ARHYOSA EDGE™
  • Features:
    • Local (near real-time) processing of certified AI algorithms.
    • Anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, and energy optimization.
    • Reduced latency and enhanced operational resilience.
  • Key Technologies:
    • EdgeAI for local execution of ML/AI models
    • Explainable AI (XAI) for model transparency
    • Containerization (e.g., Docker, OCI) and edge orchestration
  1. ARHYOSA DLT™
  • Features:
    • Immutable certification of collected data, AI models used, and energy parameters (e.g., kg of hydrogen produced per kWh).
    • End-to-end traceability and compliance with international regulations.
    • Enabling smart contracts for EaaS (Equipment as a Service), financial, and insurance services.
  • Key Technologies:
    • Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), with permissioned architectures (e.g., Hyperledger Fabric)
    • Timestamping and cryptographic notarization
    • Integration with energy and industrial certification bodies
